The buttons on the WL-D71 remote

The WL-D72 is (almost?) identical.

Noteworthy are the following buttons, in normal mode:

E1
enter/exit service mode (twice to enter, once again to exit);
F1 (REC PAUSE)
sets the camera ready to record, can also be done with the red button on the body;
J2
eject tape (you don't want to use this!);
J4
start recording right away.
and in service mode (remove tape first):
A1(start/stop)
move to next page of settings;
B4 Read/Write
in write mode you can change the value of the current PaGe/BanK/ADDRess, but not all addresses are writeable;
C2
move to previous bank (from 0 to 7 -> 6 -> ... 0); many banks appear not to be accessible, or do not exist?
E1
enter/exit service mode (twice to enter, once again to exit);
G2 (REW)
decrease ADDRess; number under DT (DaTa) will change accordingly;
G4 (FF)
increase ADDRess; number under DT (DaTa) will change accordingly;
G3 (PLAY)
increase DaTa; doesn't really change anything unless in WRite mode; not stored until the store data button (I2) is pushed;
H3 (STOP)
decrease DaTa; doesn't really change anything unless in WRite mode; not stored until the store data button (I2) is pushed;
I2 (PAUSE)
store DaTa, actually stores the changed data when in WRite mode;
J2
eject tape (you don't want to use this!).
